Patna: With persistent monsoon rains lashing the region, several rivers in North Bihar, including the Kosi, Gandak, and Bagmati, are flowing above the danger mark, putting multiple districts on high alert. The state’s Disaster Management Department has reported that low-lying areas in districts like Supaul, Darbhanga, and Madhubani have been inundated, affecting thousands of families. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held an emergency meeting today and has directed officials to expedite relief and rescue operations. NDRF and SDRF teams have been deployed to the most affected areas with boats and essential supplies.
